Weleda teams up with designer Emma Britton for Chelsea Flower Show

Weleda is excited to be collaborating once again with glass designer Emma Britton for her stunning stand at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, 21-25 May 2019.

A section of Weleda's organic meadow turf will feature on the new stand at Chelsea. The turf comes from Weleda's biodynamic herb gardens in Derbyshire, where plants are nurtured in a natural setting that allows biodiversity to thrive.

Weleda's managing director Jayn Sterland first met Emma Britton at RHS Chatsworth – both Weleda and Emma are based in Derbyshire. This led to an exciting collaboration on the packaging design for Weleda's 'Gifted by Nature' organic beauty gifts.

For her stand at Chelsea, Emma will showcase her beautiful floral designs for British-made glass splashbacks for kitchens and bathrooms. The stand will feature a luxurious bathroom with Emma's new 'Rain Garden' splashback design taking centre stage behind a magnificent copper bath made exclusively for the show by the craftsmen at William Holland in Devon.

'Rain Garden' features exotic Foxtail Lilies (Eremurus) in shades of coral, salmon and orange. Complimenting the copper bathtub, Emma has interwoven hand painted copper leaf details into the splashback design between the grasses and flowers. The bathtub will be planted with a textural carpet of succulents, connecting to the splashback – which features plants that are able to adapt and survive the warmer temperatures and water shortages we are facing with climate change.

Emma explains: “The stand is designed to inspire people to be creative with how they approach bathroom design. Relaxing in a bath in a beautiful bathroom is really the perfect way to unwind and I wanted to bring all those elements together with my new splashback, to create calmness with colour and fabulous florals.”

For Members Day 21 May at Chelsea, Weleda will be supporting Emma on stand by providing holistic mini massages – an aromatic treat to ease gardeners' aching hands and arms. The scent of Weleda's naturally fragranced organic bodycare, made with sustainable plant oils, will waft across the bathroom space.

To celebrate Chelsea, Emma has designed an exclusive limited edition tray, only available at the show, called 'Woodland Walk', featuring bluebells and a vibrant red admiral. Emma's trays are hand-made from responsibly sourced birch veneer with a melamine finish and are a practical and timeless gift for any gardener.

The Weleda 'Gardener's Favourites' gift set, featuring packaging designed by Emma, will also be available to buy on the stand at £19.95. The pretty ribboned box contains Arnica Muscle Soak, Everon Lip Balm, and mini sizes of Lavender Body Oil, Lavender Body Wash and Foot Balm, to soothe and revive after a long day working in the garden. The box also contains a tube of Weleda's award-winning Skin Food, to restore softness to hard-working hands.

Find Emma Britten and Weleda at Stand EA/412 (Eastern Avenue) at RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Weleda mini massages will be available on Members Day 21 May from 9.30-1pm and 2-6pm.
